One can't just set out to change the world without some sorts of guidelines on how it's to be done. We to follow our core values, those internal parameters that dictate not just who we are but who we would like to be. Let me give you the BIG one for me.
You have to care about, and believe in, everyone you touch, everyone who touches you. 'No exceptions.
Now, some of this is easy. We care about our friends, believe in politicians who share our values, and just know that anyone who agrees with us must be brilliant.
Okay, let's throw in a couple of ringers. Let's say you're a progressive liberal. Can you care about George Bush? How about believing in Rush Limbaugh? What if you voted for both Bushes, and you get upset because you think Rush is just too liberal? I'm just warming up; these are the easy ones.
