Welcome

Welcome to life-rhythms! My name is craig and I'll be your heretic for tonight.

If this is your first trip to the site, let me fill you in on the master plan.

I've decided it's time to overthrow the mental health system* as we know it. Here's why . . .

Some of the brightest and best are dying at their own hands. Millions more are merely surviving.

Wouldn't it be great if, instead, we could . . .

  1. . . . blur the lines between people who provide the services and the people who use them.
  2. . . . help the service providers to overcome the fear of those they serve.
  3. . . . go beyond mere treatment compliance, and  actually show people  how to get their lives back!

By the way, my weapons of choice are knowledge, information, and idle ramblings.

*Oh, and don't blame the professionals. I know many who are quite dedicated but stuck in an ancient system with outmoded paradigms.

When I found it, my hands began to tremble a little, and my eyes moistened. It took a few seconds to accept that the words said what they did, and a few minutes to finally believe in my heart that what they promised was true.

When Science Fails

Written by craig

I wish it weren't so, but when it comes to depression, there are times when even the best therapist, psychiatrists, and medicines fail. This blog has a few thoughts on how to get through these (hopefully intermittent) times of private hell.

Imagine taking a trip from Boston to Philadelphia, using a map of Spain, and managing to actually get where you wanted to go! It's possible, IF you're willing to ride an epicycle or two.
